Strange British Signs

My thoughts are confusing me at present and my personal journal has turned into a big bowl of word salad, but the following did make me laugh a lot;

Spotted in a toilet of a London office:
TOILET OUT OF ORDER. PLEASE USE FLOOR BELOW

In a Laundromat:
AUTOMATIC WASHING MACHINES: PLEASE REMOVE ALL YOUR CLOTHES WHEN THE LIGHT GOES OUT

In a London department store:
BARGAIN BASEMENT UPSTAIRS

In an office:
WOULD THE PERSON WHO TOOK THE STEP LADDER YESTERDAY PLEASE BRING IT BACK OR FURTHER STEPS WILL BE TAKEN

In an office:
AFTER TEA BREAK STAFF SHOULD EMPTY THE TEAPOT AND STAND UPSIDE DOWN ON THE DRAINING BOARD

Outside a secondhand shop:
WE EXCHANGE ANYTHING – BICYCLES, WASHING MACHINES, ETC. WHY NOT BRING YOUR WIFE ALONG AND GET A WONDERFUL BARGAIN?

Notice in health food shop window:
CLOSED DUE TO ILLNESS

Spotted in a safari park:
ELEPHANTS PLEASE STAY IN YOUR CAR

Seen during a conference:
FOR ANYONE WHO HAS CHILDREN AND DOESN’T KNOW IT, THERE IS A DAY CARE ON THE FIRST FLOOR

Notice in a field:
THE FARMER ALLOWS WALKERS TO CROSS THE FIELD FOR FREE, BUT THE BULL CHARGES

Message on a leaflet:
IF YOU CANNOT READ, THIS LEAFLET WILL TELL YOU HOW TO GET LESSONS

On a repair shop door:
WE CAN REPAIR ANYTHING.(PLEASE KNOCK HARD ON THE DOOR – THE BELL DOESN’T WORK)

There are crazy signs all over the world. It’s a pity I can’t quote some silly and funny Bulgarian signs, but because they are mostly based on linguistic mistakes, if translated the hilarious effect is lost. But here is one in English (or is it?):

By the way, this picture is magnificent!

      Hey Shiona,

I tried the link but it just came up with what I suspect os the logo for the all.bg forum. Could you resend as I am all curious now 🙂

I’m sorry. It’s a picture and I’m not sure I can attach it here, but I’ll try to describe it. It’s a small restaurant or a cafe in some non-English speaking country, obviously. But I don’t think it’s Bulgaria because you can see palm trees in the street and they do not grow here. There’s a really large sign at the top of the building reading,

        WELCOM TURIST
        WE SPIK INGLISH

        I found this very funny.

          No need for apologies…
I like it and will try to look for an INGLISH course as I like the sound of that language..:-)
