The 7 Link Challenge

Let me start by putting your mind at rest. I am not going to set you any kind of challenge whatsoever and quite frankly, why would I?

I am going to give it a go though!

The 7 Link challenge was created by Darren Rowse at Problogger.

I came across it earlier this afternoon after I had finished work, and although I am not a big fan of list posts I felt up for the challenge feeling very confident that this would be a walk in the park but it turned out to be a little more challenging than first anticipated.

This is mainly because I have never been very good at giving myself credit for anything in my life although there are some exceptions. I thought that perhaps this might help convince me that I am not a complete waste of space, although, I suspect that some people may think otherwise! I don’t have the power to change how other people see or judge me nor do I want to. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion!

It did however make me track back and read some of the stuff I have posted since I started this, and whilst I have never labeled myself a writer I do know I have the ability to string a sentence together that, in most cases, can be read and understood by someone reading.

Anyway, on with the challenge;

1. Your First Post

The very first post on here is called My Journey but reading it back made me cringe to the point of wanting to delete or re-write it. However, it was the start of a journey of many directions and to edit or re-writing it to feel less embarrassed about it would be a mistake and dishonest.

2. A post you enjoyed writing the most.

This is a difficult one because there are so many I truly enjoyed writing but since I have to choose one, writing What if you could acquire the power of a God in this world was a lot of fun and very enjoyable.

3. A post that had a great discussion.

I am going to include two posts for this one, which may be against the rules but since I am no fan of too many rules anyway I am going to go for it. Beginning to Accept is a post that kind of wrote itself in my journal and then made it onto the blog and it seemed to speak to some of you. Attraction is a post I really enjoyed writing and perhaps I should have put that in the 2nd challenge above, but then again I don’t like the word “Should” so it’s staying because the quality of the comments are just excellent.

4. A post on someone else’s blog that you wish you’d written.

This challenge is now beginning to prove more difficult and it is going to be so difficult for me to pin down to just one single post. I could of course break the rules again and list down some of the many posts I wish I’d written but then this would turn into an endless list of links, so for this one I will stick to the rules and go with The New Minimalism or the New Consumerism? from Beyond Growth.

5. A post with a title you are proud of.

It is not actually the title I am proud of but the events that created the post in the first place. The memory of that experience has stayed with me ever since. The post is;  Making a Difference

6. A post that you wish more people had read.

The post Right or Wrong? came to me as soon as I read the question so I am sticking with it. There may be some room for improvement but I like the message within the post and may at some point expand upon it.

7. Your most visited post ever.

Before I checked my stats I was convinced it would be The Need for Approval because it has been the most visited throughout the life of this blog but now the most visited post ever is Masquerade.

That’s it peeps! I have completed the 7 link challenge and with that I wish you a wonderful weekend.

Indeed good to see you posting again; don’t think I shall take up the challenge but thank you for your honesty and candour.
In my opinion, you make a difference all the time, not just that one remarkable example, with both clients and friends and everyone you now meet.

It is an interesting challenge and I’m glad it inspired you to post here again.
I’m glad it made me read once again “Write or Wrong” and brought back to my mind your other posts that mean so much to me. Especially “The Need for Approval” has actually marked a new beginning for me.
Both of us have made huge progress since then and I hope you realize that and are proud of yourself.

We have indeed made huge progress and you are right that this is something to be proud of although pride doesn’t always come easy to me.
I enjoyed trawling back through my older posts and comments in order to do this and although some of the posts made me cringe somehow, it is still a good record of how I have changed over the past three years.

Oh it feels very odd in here; all echoey with all the things being taken down and unpacked and put into boxes. It doesn’t feel quite like home any more.

I hope that the echo will soon stop and that I will somehow make it feel like home again! Thank you so much for the wakeup call.
