Journey of Life

the place formerly known as control your destiny

Don’t Give Up

In this proud land we grew up strong
We were wanted all along
I was taught to fight, taught to win
I never thought I could fail

No fight left or so it seems
I am a man whose dreams have all deserted
Ive changed my face, Ive changed my name
But no one wants you when you lose

Dont give up
cos you have friends
Dont give up
Youre not beaten yet
Dont give up
I know you can make it good

Though I saw it all around
Never thought I could be affected
Thought that wed be the last to go
It is so strange the way things turn

Drove the night toward my home
The place that I was born, on the lakeside
As daylight broke, I saw the earth
The trees had burned down to the ground

Dont give up
You still have us
Dont give up
We dont need much of anything
Dont give up
cause somewhere theres a place
Where we belong

Rest your head
You worry too much
Its going to be alright
When times get rough
You can fall back on us
Dont give up
Please dont give up

got to walk out of here
I cant take anymore
Going to stand on that bridge
Keep my eyes down below
Whatever may come
And whatever may go
That rivers flowing
That rivers flowing

Moved on to another town
Tried hard to settle down
For every job, so many men
So many men no-one needs

Dont give up
cause you have friends
Dont give up
Youre not the only one
Dont give up
No reason to be ashamed
Dont give up
You still have us
Dont give up now
Were proud of who you are
Dont give up
You know its never been easy
Dont give up
cause I believe theres the a place
Theres a place where we belong

      Thank you Lene.
I won’t give up despite feeling like it some days and thankfully I have been blessed with some truly wonderful friends in my life.

      With love and gratitude

I’ve always loved this song! It’s so beautiful so genuine and sincere. Their voices go together so well and the lyrics are breathtaking. Kate Bush’s part is so gentle, so touching, so full of love and understanding…
Thanks for posting it. We all need to hear such words from time to time.

In truth I posted it to remind myself that I am not alone, at least not all of the time! I have always loved this song too. It is incredibly touching and so full of understanding and true understanding seems to be scarce these days..
Thank you for being who you are..

I used to listen to their haunting voices. Trying to take in the faint hope and well intended wishes. This is a beautiful song. Fitting. I feel most people can relate at one time or another in their lives to the concept. I came here because I missed your voice… instead I heard another… its a perfect reminder f how I need to listen to what is presented and take it in.

Had you in my thoughts. thank you for sharing your heart and thoughts

      Thank you enreal,

I posted it more as a reminder to myself to carry on believing that despite how hard things may seem there will be a light at the end of the tunnel.
